TURTLE, Wis. — Authorities in the Town of Turtle, Wisconsin are investigating a deeply disturbing case involving a mother, 41-year old Tyiece Oninski, accused of killing Kuren Rin, a freshman at Beloit Memorial High School, a story that has gained national attention over the past several days.
According to preliminary reports, law enforcement responded to an incident earlier this week that led to the discovery of the child’s death under circumstances officials describe as suspicious. The child’s mother has since been identified as the primary suspect, though formal charges and additional details have not yet been fully released.
Investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive, but early information circulating suggests the case may involve troubling personal or psychological factors. Officials have emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing, and they are urging the public to avoid speculation while evidence is being processed.
Oninski was transported to Beloit Memorial Hospital and later transferred to a Madison medical facility for treatment. Toxicology results showed benzodiazepines, amphetamines and THC in her system.
We reached out to the Town of Turtle Police Department for official comment regarding the case, including confirmation of details and any forthcoming charges. As of now, we have not received a response. The court has ordered Oninski be held on a $1,000,000 cash bond.
This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
